Women in Business Dinner and Annual Suzanne Oldakowski Women of Excellence~Women Professionals Hall of Fame Inductee
January 24 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for our first Women in Business dinner of the new year, honoring our 2024 Woman of Excellence, Chrissy Traore from See & Be Kitchen in Cairo.
Sponsored by Sunmark Credit Union.
Chrissy Traore is the Co-Founder and Chief Culinary Officer of See and Be Kitchen, bringing sourdough bread, pastries, and from-scratch foods to the Catskill region since launching in 2018 through wholesale B2B and direct-to-consumers retail. Prior to that time, she was the Executive Chef at Glen Falls House in Roundtop, Westwind Orchard in Accord, and the Head Pizza Chef at Saraghina Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. While in NYC, her focus was wood-fired neapolitan pizza and strategic brand development for small batch food producers. She has a passion for non-profit work, especially with an eye to food justice and skill training for underserved communities, as evidenced through the annual Bake Sale Fundraiser and founding of Chrissy’s Cooking Club, a non-profit dedicated to teaching from-scratch cooking. She also continues as a long-standing instructor for more than a decade at John Jay College of Criminal Justice teaching Chemistry of Cooking. Since settling in Cairo with her family in 2017, Chrissy works to bring together other small local businesses in everything that she does, embodying a true network approach, so as the quote goes, “When the tide rises, all boats go up.” Chrissy homesteads in Cairo with her husband, two small children, a flock of chickens, one dog, and one cat.
Our speaker for the night will be Sam Jones, Creative Director for Comedy Central.
Professional humorist Sam Jones holds the title of writer/creative director across Paramount Network’s Comedy Central, VH1, MTV, and P+ channels. The native New Yorker, known for her outrageous social media presence, ditched her MetroCard and 700 square foot apartment for an acre and a half of land and a riding lawn mower. Sam is one of the owners of Goodies Bagels in Catskill and has been known to gallivant around town disguised as a Sasquatch named Yetta.
Enjoy dinner at the Griffin House in Palenville and network with fellow businesswomen.
